Ceph is under active development to better utilize high-performance solid state devices. Several performance enhancements have been made in the last few releases to unblock the stack limitations leveraging high-performance solid state devices. This talk presents some of these enhancements, and performance comparison between HDD and solid state based Ceph solutions, all using commodity hardware. These advancements are tested to meet a theoretical sustained workload of 400K IOPS, 50% read/50% write.
