The IO Visor Project is an open source project and a community of developers to accelerate the innovation, development, and sharing of new IO and networking functions.

IO Visor brings Universal IO Extensibility to the Linux Kernel and gives IO developers the ability to create applications, publish them, deploy them in live systems without having to recompile or reboot a full datacenter.

This session presents a deep dive on one of the core use cases of the IO Visor Project: its application to tracing to deploy efficient performance monitoring applications of VMs and containers.

With its innovative technology and its ability to enable real-time tracing and monitoring applications to be built directly inside the kernel, the IO Visor Project constitutes an ideal framework for tracing applications.
